at the drop of a hat
-This phrase hearkens back to the days of the Wild West, where a gun was as much a part of a man as his right hand and where brawling was a right of passage. In fact, it was this propensity for fighting that led to the creation of at the drop of a hat 'quickly and without much prompting.' During the 19th century, the start of a duel was often signaled by a third party dropping his hat or holding it in his hand and sweeping it down across himself. The dueler with the quickest reaction time and keenest aim would be the winner, and from this speedy response came the definition of today's expression. The act of dropping a hat to signal the start of a duel or race spread to other items of clothing, particularly the scarf or handkerchief of a woman attached to one of the competitors.

Side note:
Helloooooo to everyone! Wow, that was one hell of a flu; it took five days for my fever to break. Hope everyone else had a better week and weekend. Also, no more takers for Halloween photos?

[ravemasta]
Empire Magazine is running a poll on it's website for the worst movies ever made, and inviting viewers to nominate three movies.

http://www.empireonline.com/worstmovies/

It would be awesome if a few MST3k movies got up on their final list, so lets nominate our favourites. (or not so favourites)

Ok, so I'm haveing a bit of a prob.
I want to pain some candles.
But, I was reading that I should use Candle painting medium.

I work at a craft store, and a bunch of my coworkers are pretty crafty.
We didn't have anything called Candle painting medium and after talking to a almost all of my coworkers they had no idea what candle painting medium is and had never heard of it.

One of my coworkers says I should just use craft paint and paint hem anyways but I don't know what that would do once someone started to burn the candle.
I'm not sure if it was start a fire of some sort.
Help plz?

o/~ Rollin' down the road, tryin' to loosen my load, I got Colem Francis on my mind.

Whenever I hear the real song, I insert that line. Anybody else have songs that are constantly "improved" by MST riffs?
also forgive me for any horrid spelling >>;

no blame intended, so please don't take any. [Nov. 8th, 2009|03:10 am]

Once again tonight, as I was driving home, I heard that song. Everyone has THAT song.
I love that song. I really do. the biggest problem is that I only seem to hear it this time
of year. This time of year is when I miss her most. The girl that had the lyric, "She's out
there on her own and shes alright." written on her jeans.
I think the biggest problem I have this time of year is that so many times I just wish she
could be there while I am crying. Just be there, and tell me things will turn out for the better. Just hold me while I am at my worst.
I hate being this selfish bastard and having the thought stuck in my head that if only
she was there when I am at these points, that I would be alright. It's selfish because that
rest of the time, I seem to be able to handle things. But when I am at my absolute lowest,
there is only one person that, in my head, can bring me comfort.
All my friends try, and I thank you all, obviously it has worked since I am still here.
Even she has tried. She is out there on her own, and even though everything might not always
seem alright, she is doing the best she can, and making it fucking work. She is my inspiration
and my regret.
If only I could stop regretting, maybe, I might be able to follow through with how you have
inspired me.

I'm sorry everyone. In case you haven't noticed. I go through a very predictable pattern
this time of your. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get any better. I just
hope I make it through this time, because this feels worse then ever before.
a lot more to say but i cant type anymore. night people. dose time.

at least now i have creepa staring at me. i honestly think that if it was not
for her, i would have killed myself by now. i can't promise i won't try hurt myself in the coming months, but i have to take care of her, so at least i most likely
won't try to off myself.

I painted these the other day, one of them for my cousin's 18th birthday. I was really pleased - he said he loved it, put it straight on and wore it all night!

Two MST movies mentioned in this article on weird movie titles:

I have to say that it was kind of weird to look on Yahoo and see "Eegah!" on the front page.

So I'm going to try a bullet-type method to get all of the mundane things out of the way, but of course, when I say "mundane," it refers to all of the weird day-to-day stuff that, when they add to together, actually construct a fairly larger picture towards my recent goings-on. There won't necessarily be an order, mostly because I can't really keep track of what came first and at what interval they began to take precedence. So here we go:
